The Zanu PF Political Commissar and deputy Minister of Defence and War Veterans Victor Matemadanda is recuperating at home after falling seriously ill, in a suspected case of poisoning in Marondera on Saturday last week.
He has been quoted as saying he was poisoned by an unknown person who approached him and pretended to remove something from his cap. He believes the man had some poisonous gas in his hand.
Matemadanda immediately felt dizzy after inhaling the gas. He felt nausea and itchy and vomitted many times throughout the weekend. However, doctors attended to him and he is now in a stable condition.
Zanu PF has since issued a statement confirming that Matemadanda is unwell following the incident.
